Duralens™ ZnSe Plano-Convex LensesThe 61001-117 plano-convex focusing lens for CO2 lasers is 1.5 inch diameter with a 5.13 inch focal length. This ZnSe lens has a 7.1 mm edge thickness for OEM compatibility with Cincinnati®. Zinc Selenide's low absorption coefficient makes it a perfect candidate for focusing applications using high power CO2 lasers. The DURALENS™ AR coating used for these CO2 laser lenses is designed specifically for 10.6 micron wavelength. The high quality coating increases the amount of energy going through the lens and decrease the absoption to <0.20%. When cutting steel and other thick materials, a Plano-Convex lens provides a greater width of the cut enabling the laser's Oxygen assist to enter and ease the cutting process. In addition, Plano-Convex lenses give a greater depth of field needed to maintain a taperless edge when cutting thicker materials. This kind of lens is more popular in American and Japanese machinery.
